Old Stables Cottage (NOW AVAILABLE FOR LONG LET)

Set in the grounds of the magnificent moated Elsing Hall, this attractive converted stables/coach house has recently been fully refurbished to provide light, airy and attractive accommodation whilst retaining the character of the old grade II listed building. The house has its own private walled garden and is surrounded by the famous gardens of Elsing Hall with their abundant collection of old English highly scented roses, moat, medieval stew pond, walled garden, formal garden and park. Elsing is an unspoilt rural village set in the peaceful heart of Norfolk with easy access to the many delights of the area including the world class north coast beaches, stately homes (including Holkham Hall, Houghton Hall, Royal Sandringham and several National Trust properties), the Broads, East Anglia's capital city of Norwich as well as many others. There are three pubs within a few miles all offering good food and the attractive Elsing church boasts the widest unsupported nave in England as well as the famous Hastings Brass. In fact it is said that the church is linked to Elsing Hall by an underground tunnel. The legend goes that when the tunnel was unearthed a number of years ago, a small dog was sent down the tunnel with a bell attached to its neck. After a short time the bell noise faded and the dog was never seen again. Apparently the tunnel was then sealed up and its location is now unknown.

The accommodation includes: A large games room in the former stables area (two loose boxes have been retained and can be used as play areas or for reading), fully equipped kitchen/dining room, sitting room with TV (all south facing and looking on to the private garden), 3 double bedrooms and 1 twin bedroom, 3 bathrooms (one en suite), utility room with washer and dryer and WC, long gallery to a further play area. The cottage is beamed throughout.
