Elsing Hall Gardens

Welcome to our site.

SPECIAL OPENING ARRANGEMENTS FOR 2020 IN LIGHT OF COVID19 - If you would like to visit the garden, please email us on patrick.lines@gmail.com stating the number of people in your group (no minimum group size required) and your desired time of visit. If we can we will seek to accommodate you and let you know by return email. The cost is £10 a head. There are no tea facilities and no toilets. You are welcome to bring your own refreshments for consumption in the car parking area or the pinetum. Payment is by cash on arrival (no credit cards or cheques). The garden closes for the year on Thursday 1 October. We plan to re-open in the Spring of 2021 and will announce the opening date nearer the time.

Group Garden Visits

Elsing Hall Gardens are set in the romantic surroundings of Elsing Hall, a medieval moated manor house dating from 1470. The garden is open to groups of 20 or more people by prior arrangement. We frequently host groups from as far away as Japan, Germany, Holland, the USA and elsewhere as well, of course, as groups from within the UK. All are most welcome. Visits start with a brief introductory talk giving the history of the house and gardens and then groups are free to roam around the gardens at their leisure and discover the many little secrets in store. There is plenty of car and small coach (31 seaters and below) parking. Larger coaches must deposit passengers at the front gate and remain parked outside. Tea, coffee and cake is also available to groups. Please call or email us for further information or to make an appointment. Follow us on Instagram for the latest updates - elsing_hall_gardens.

Rates for group visits (including tea/coffee/cookies) in 2019/20 are £260 per group or £13 per head, whichever is higher. Groups of less than 20 people can be arranged but the minimum rate of £260 applies.

Other Functions

We occasionally host functions such as wedding receptions or arts events in the gardens and we are open to suggestions for particular functions at the request of guests.

Elsing Hall is our private home and the house itself is not generally open to the public.

Please explore this site for further information about the house and gardens.
